Tropical Storms – Roundup of Tropical Storms:

Super typhoon 06w (Noul), located approximately 412 nm southwest of Yokosuka, Japan is tracking northeastward at 51 knots.

Tropical storm 07w (Dolphin), located approximately 791 nm east-southeast of Andersen AFB, is tracking westward at 06 knots.


Nepal – The windstorm has damaged around 450 houses in the Far-Western region of Nepal. The hardest hit is Kailali where 286 houses were damaged. In a separate incident, a lightning strike has claimed the life of one person and injured five others in Nilkantha municipality-11 of Dhading district.

New Zealand – A tornado has caused damage in Taranaki town, near New Plymouth, ripping off a roof and uprooting trees. In Wellington, heavy rainfall caused major flooding in the city.


Wildfires – Alberta, Canada

Wildfires in Alberta have more than doubled so far this year thanks to an unusually dry spring, officials say.

Last year at this time there had been 154 wildfires, but there have been 339 so far in 2015. The five-year average for the province is 245 wildfires by the first week of May.
