Rainfall: Blanca is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 6 to 10 inches over much of Baja California Sur and the southern half of the state of Baja California, with possible isolated maximum amounts of 15 inches over Baja California sur. These rains could produce life-threatening flash floods and mudslides. Surf: swells generated by Blanca are affecting the coast of

southwestern Mexico, the Pacific coast of the Baja California peninsula, and the southern Gulf of California. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.

Germany – At least two lightning strikes injured 33 people at the Rock am Ring festival in the town of Mendig, Germany. Eight people from production teams were injured when the first strike hit the backstage area at around 1 am. Organisers halted the concert and offered visitors shelter in large, lightning-proof tents.


Heat Wave in Pakistan/India – Update

At least 10 people have died in the Sehwan district of Sindh province of Pakistan due to the ongoing heat wave conditions. They died during the 763rd Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the heat wave in India has already claimed the lives of more than 2,000 people.

The highest daytime temperature was recorded at Sweihan, Abu Dhabi on Wenesday. The temperature climbed to 50.5C at 12pm local time.


Wildfires – Alberta, Canada

There are 43 wildfires burning in the province, including 12 that have started in the past 24 hours.

Only four however, are being called out-of-control, including two in the High Level area and one in the Lac La Biche region.

Wildfire officials warn that the Alberta fire situation remains high and dangerous.

Wildfires – New Mexico, USA

A wildfire burning in New Mexico – east of Douglas continues to grow.

The lightning-caused Guadalupe Fire that began on June 2nd has burned about 5,500 acres, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

The fire is burning grass and brush in the Peloncillo Mountains. The fire remains at zero percent containment.

272 personnel are battling this wildfire, and they’re working to stop the flames from reaching a nearby ranch.
