Tropical Storms – Roundup of Tropical Storms:
In the Western Pacific Ocean: Tropical storm 02w (nuri), located approximately 126 nm west-southwest of Hong Kong, is tracking northwestward at 16 knots.
China – Rainstorms have killed five more people in a southern Chinese region already reeling from heavy flooding over the past week. The government of Zunyi city, south of the metropolis of Chongqing, said Saturday that five had died and eight others were missing after fresh storms that began late Thursday night. A statement on its website said at least 13,000 people had been evacuated, more than 2,000 homes damaged and multiple sections of roads and three bridges destroyed in the city in Guizhou province. Earlier storms left 13 dead in nearby Hunan province and the Guangxi region.

Wildfires – Arizona, USA
The Mangum Fire near the Grand Canyon torched nearly 15,000 acres and was 2% contained as of Saturday, while other wildfires continued burning across Arizona.
Though the cause of the fire remains under investigation, it was sparked Monday and as of Saturday involved 234 personnel working to quell it. The fire, which has burned 14,800 acres, was pushed north Friday by strong winds that caused blowing embers to create spot fires up to a half-mile north of the main fire.
Wildfires – Montana, USA
A wildfire near Helena has grown rapidly from several hundred acres to 1 800 acres amid gusty winds. Evacuations along the expected path of the fire are under way.

Singapore reported a record week of dengue fever cases during the week ending Friday, June 12. According to NEA data, 895 cases were recorded during the five-plus days from June 7 to June 12, eclipsing the former one week record from 2014 (891).
