India – The flood situation continues in the state of Assam, north east India, where disaster authorities say more than 1.4 million people are now affected. Rivers have been overflowing in the state since 20 June in the current spate of flooding. Since then 1.49 million people in 2,235 villages across 23 districts have been affected. India’s Central Water Commission reported rivers were at “Severe Flood Situation” in 10 locations across the state as of 30 June. However, all were showing a falling or steady trend apart from the Kopili river at Dharamtul, Marigaon district, and the Brahmaputra river at Dhubri and Goalpara.


Wildfires – Nevada, USA

The Knolls Fire near Saratoga Springs has burned an estimated 12,977 acres with containment now at 75%. Officials say the fire is believed to be human-caused and under investigation. Fire officials say 13 engines, one water tender, four (20 person) crews, and three helicopters are working to contain the fire with a total of 235 personnel.

Ebola – DR Congo

The Ministère de la Santé in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) reported two additional Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) cases Monday, bringing the outbreak total in Mbandaka, Équateur Province to 30-(27 confirmed & 3 probable), with 13 associated deaths.

Dengue Fever – Costa Rica

Through the first week of June, Costa Rica health officials have recorded 3,729 total dengue fever cases. This compares with 1,564 cases during the same period in 2019.
