Vietnam – Storm Conson brought torrential rain to parts of Vietnam from 10 September, triggering flash floods which resulted in 2 fatalities and hundreds of homes damaged. In a period from 10 to early 13 September, Storm Conson dumped 908 mm of rain in Binh Tan, Quang Ngai Province. The worst of the flooding was in Quang Ngai, where 775 houses were damaged.
Pakistan – At least 20 people have died after torrential monsoon rains and mudslides hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in northwestern Pakistan early from 08 September 2021. Meanwhile disaster authorities in the country report that over 160 people have now died in rain-related incidents since the start of this year’s monsoon. In Torghar district, 13 bodies have been recovered from the debris of a mudslide which swept away two houses and damaged several others.
Guinea – At least 5 people have died and thousands left homeless after heavy rain and floods caused severe damage in areas of Guinea from late August. Heavy rain fell over most of the country from 30 to 31 August, causing flooding in the prefectures of Siguiri, Guéckédou, and in the capital Conakry. Almost 70,000 people from around 10,000 households have been affected.

People have fled their homes in six more Andalucían towns and villages as Spain sent in a military unit to help tackle wildfires raging close to a Costa del Sol resort.
A blaze fanned by strong winds has driven out almost 2,000 people and killed one emergency worker since it began on Wednesday in the mountainous Sierra Bermeja above Estepona, a popular spot with British tourists and retirees, having grown to over 6 000 hectares.

Firefighters were making progress on a wildfire that jumped across a Southern California freeway and spread across dry hillsides while a new blaze forced residents of a Northern California community to evacuate.
The fire broke out Saturday afternoon near Castaic in northern Los Angeles County. Pushed by 10-15mph (16-24 kph) winds, the blaze chewed through tinder-dry brush and jumped across the busy freeway, spread across more than a half of a square mile.
