In the Western Pacific Ocean: Tropical Storm 13e (Lester), located approximately 1475 nm southeast of San Diego, is tracking northwestward at 09 knots.
In the Northwest Pacific Ocean: Super Typhoon 16w (Nanmadol), located approximately 247 nm east of Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan, is tracking northwestward at 09 knots.

Italy – At least 10 people have lost their lives after torrential rain triggered catastrophic flooding in the Marche Region of Italy overnight, 15 to 16 September 2022. Areas of the Province of Ancona have been particularly badly affected. Many areas have been left without electricity and in some cases telecommunications and drinking water. Schools and some public services have been closed. Roads in the area have been cut leaving some communities isolated. Dozens of survivors scrambled onto rooftops or up into trees to await rescue. Some farm fields near the sea were meters (yards) under water.
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever – Brazil
The Municipality of Campinas in São Paulo State confirmed two more deaths of residents from Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF), bringing the total to four in 2022.

A veterinarian in the autonomous community of Extremadura has contracted anthrax, the second case in the past 20 years in the region.
