Tropical Storms – Roundup of Tropical Storms:
In the Northwest Pacific Ocean – Tropical storm 04w (Chaba), located approximately 180 nm west-southwest of Hong Kong, is tracking north-northwestward at 07 knots.
Tropical storm 05w (Aere), located approximately 101 nm east-southeast of Kadena AFB, is tracking north-northwestward at 15 knots.

India – A massive landslide triggered by days of heavy rain has caused death and destruction in a remote area of the state of Manipur in northeastern India. The landslide occurred at a railway construction site near Tupul, Noney district, during the early hours of 30 June 2022, burying a makeshift camp for construction workers. Rescue teams working at the site recovered 14 bodies, while 25 were rescued alive. The landslide blocked the flow of the Ijai river and created an artificial dam, raising fears of possible flooding in the area.
Wildfires – Peru
Firefighters have largely controlled a forest fire near the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru, though they remained alert for a possible resurgence of the blaze due to strong winds near the ancient city high in the Andean mountains. The fire was started on Tuesday by farmers burning grass and debris to prepare to sow new crops.
