Missouri, USA – Record rainfall caused severe flash flooding in parts of Missouri on 26 July 2022. The Mayor of St Louis has declared a state of emergency, while emergency services have rescued dozens of people from trapped vehicles and flooded homes. St Louis Fire Department reported at least one fatality. A record 7.02 inches (178 mm) of rain fell in 5 hours early on 26 July 2022.
Wildfires – Idaho, USA
Most of the growth on the Salmon Fire 10 miles northwest of Salmon, Idaho has been south of the Salmon River in recent days. It was mapped Monday night at 37,264 acres, a 24-hour growth of more than 1,500 acres.
Wildfires – California, USA
Fire officials called Monday a successful day on the Oak Fire northwest of Mariposa, California, saying there was minimal growth. The 1,200 acres added paled in comparison to the rapid spread seen on Friday and Saturday. It was mapped Monday night at 18,017 acres, with most of the increase being on the east side where it is chewing through the four-year old vegetation in the footprint of the 2018 Ferguson Fire.
Wildfires – Germany
Firefighters in Germany are battling blazes in Brandenburg and Saxony after last week’s heat wave. Over 700 people have been told to leave the area, with authorities planning further evacuations.

In the first six months of 2022, 3,533 cases of rotavirus enteritis were registered in Ukraine, of which 3,388 were in children.
Polio – Pakistan
An 18-month child was paralyzed by wild polio in Lakki Marwat, the Pakistan Polio Laboratory in Islamabad confirmed on Friday. This is the thirteenth case in Pakistan this year.
